The following are conditions of sale and are understood between the seller (The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited) and the buyer (the customer).

Estimates and Quotations
Estimates and quotations are based on all information given by the customer and or gathered on site survey. The cost quoted will be valid for three months from the date it is supplied but we reserve the right to change due to any unforeseen circumstances.

Samples and Selection
The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited can not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of colour or description of any flooring product or material that is chosen from a photograph or image obtained from the internet. We are happy to supply physical samples and highly recommend this as the only option for final selection.

Payment
The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited require 100% payment in advance of commencement of works, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The goods supplied will remain the property of The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited, until payment is received in full and the seller reserves the right to remove any goods should payment not be made in full.

Uplift and Disposal of Existing Floor Covering
In most instances, The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited are happy to provide this as a service but it must be agreed prior to the date of installation. All areas must be clean and obstacle free prior to the arrival of the flooring fitters. If it is agreed that the customer will uplift and dispose of their existing flooring, this is required to be done and all areas cleared prior to the arrival of the flooring fitters. Failure to do so may result in an additional charge due to the additional time that would need to be added to the installation.

Floor Preparation
It is always the preference of The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited that they take responsibility of the preparation of the floor to be fitter. However, if the customer wishes to take this responsibility, they must ensure that the floor is prepared to be an even surface completely free of damp and in a condition that is suitable for the chosen floor covering to be successfully fitted.
Pipes and Cables
It is the responsibility of the customer to inform The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited of the location of any pipes and cables which are in the area where the flooring installation is to take place. All pipes and cables must adhere to the regulation depth under the floor and comply with all current legislation. The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited will not be held responsible for any damage to pipes or cables or any subsequent damage to the customers property or fittings because of the above not being complied with.

Moving Furniture
The moving of large furniture items by the flooring fillers must be agreed prior to the date of installation. All furniture must first be emptied by the customer and any small or delicate items placed away from entry to and the installation area. The customer is also responsible for unplugging and removing any electrical items prior to installation. Failure to do so may result in an additional charge due to the additional time that would need to be added to the installation.

Door Cutting
Due to an increase in height of new floor covering, occasionally doors may need to be cut. Unfortunately, this cannot always be foreseen and although we may be able to provide this as a service, but it may not be possible on the same day.

Staircase Flooring Installation
If decorators’ filler is previously applied to any surface cracks on a staircase where a stair runner is to be fitted, The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited cannot accept any liability for damage caused to these areas when installing carpet or flooring.

Joins in Carpet
Should there be a necessity to join carpet, even with the greatest of care, we can not guarantee that joins will be invisible.

Shade Tolerance
There may be some difference between the sample selected and the fitted product due to dye batch or natural variation. This is more prevalent with natural products and should not be considered a defect. All pile carpets, especially those with plain grounds, are liable to shading, i.e, light and dark patches arising from uneven surface pressure. This tendency is not detrimental to the wear of the material and is not due to any manufacturing fault. Light and delicately shaded carpets are likely to become soiled in wear and apparently lose colour. Even the greatest care on the part of the manufacturer or supplier cannot prevent these tendencies and the seller cannot therefor accept responsibility for complaints arising from either of these causes.

Installation Delays and Cancellation
Installation dates and times may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances and the customer will be notified as soon as possible. The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited will not be held responsible for any costs or consequential loss incurred by the customer should this occur. Cancellations or rescheduling of installation dates by the customer require a minimum notice period of 48 hours. If this not adhered to, any losses due to abortive deliveries or installations will be charged to the customer.

Storage due to Installation Delay
The London Carpet and Flooring Company Limited will keep your flooring in storage for a maximum of three months. After this time, the goods will be delivered or a storage fee of £10 per item, per week will be charged.
